Reverend Reginald A. Monte Jr., is a product of the Philadelphia School System. After High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was discharged under Honorable Conditions at the Rank of Sergeant E5. He is currently employed by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) and has operated Trolleys, Buses and Trains. Out of his 37 years of service with the company, the last 29 have been as an operator of the Broad Street Subway. SEPTA awarded Rev. Monte the Star award, their highest honor given to employees in 1991 for Heroism.
Rev. Monte is a 1993 graduate (with highest honors) of the Manna Bible Institute. He earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from the Center for Urban Theological Studies campus of Geneva College graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1997. He earned the Master of Divinity Degree in 2005 from the Lutheran Theological Seminary of Philadelphia.
In July of 1987 he made the most important decision of his life when he accepted JESUS CHRIST as his Savior. As a member of the Harold O. Davis Memorial Baptist Church he was set apart to the office and work of Deacon on Oct. 19, 1990. On Sept.30, 1994 he was licensed and then Ordained May 31, 1998 to preach the gospel of JESUS CHRIST. He served as Assistant Pastor of the Harold O. Davis Memorial Baptist Church from 1997 until 2003. He then served as Assistant to the Pastor at the Haven Peniel United Methodist Church until he was appointed Pastor of the Midtown Parish United Methodist Church in March 2004.

Rev. Monte founded and directed F.A.N.S. for JESUS (Former Addicts Now Saved) a Christian drug rehabilitation ministry from 1990 until 2003. Rev. Monte has been a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Association’s Good Shepherd Ministries since 1995 where he goes into the Philadelphia Prison system to teach and preach God’s word. The Lord has placed a burden on Rev. Monte’s heart to reach out to those addicted, in prisons, the less fortunate and those considered outcasts in our society. Married in 1977, he cherishes his lovely wife Lisa, who inspires and supports him in the ministry along with their three children Reginald, Angela and Randall plus one granddaughter Morgan.
